The brexit thread was always fairly 50:50 in terms of pre and anti brexit.
The pro brexiteers seem to have disappeared
Thought they would have been all desperate to come on to point out all the benefits we have experienced as they occurred.
I've just seen the opening shots on the BBC and Germany is being washed away whilst today in Littleborough we've had weather more commonly experienced on the French Riviera - a day's heatwave. Just knew the weather would improve once we loosed the shackles!

That particular poster was a completely disingenuous ****. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he weren't a paid mole. Funny how he fucked off before the chickens started coming home to roost.

I don’t think he was a mole at all, nor a troll. I think he was just deeply insecure and frankly not being on here any more is quite possibly a well-being issue for him.

I remember after I called him out on one issue on here aeons ago he suggested we should both PM our CVs to the mods as if they could make some sort of declaration as to who had more experience in negotiating settlements. Seriously, a cock measuring contest about your CV. I laughed at the time but steered clear of engaging with him after that. Whatever self esteem boosts he received as a result of getting likes from some of the halfwits on here - the ones that appear to have quitted this parish of late - he was welcome to them.

For all that, he’s a blue, and one of us, albeit one I’d probably cross the bar to avoid. He felt shit when we lost to Chelsea, too.

seems that all those people who were coming here taking our jobs just weren't and sector after sector wants the rules relaxed to let their "special " workers back into the UK -

Just had a week in the Lake District.... many restaurants and pubs not open at lunchtime. Those that were open were rammed but obviously short staffed (one pub in Kirby Lonsdale had one chef / one bar person and two doing table service) took 45 minutes to get a cold lunch. Majority advertising for staff .... deffo lack of foreign voices / workers.

have to say if Boris and the Tories had presided over what's happened in Germany and Belgium the past few days every thread imaginable would have been spammed to buggery with how they've failed us, how it's a complete failure of their government and that they have blood on their hands.

The same is true of the EU, Merkel and their respective regional governments. Britain has encountered numerous floods in recent years and their systems and protections not capitulated like this with such a loss of life. A tragic, needless and disgraceful failure of governance and thought I'd raise it otherwise it clearly wasn't going to get mentioned by the usual suspects on here who paint it as a one-sided affair.

Is this post a parody?

Please tell me it is.

Conservatives and their bizarre false equivalences

Someone has been watching too much GB News.

Or reading the Express.
I can’t stop thinking about that post. It kind of sums up how we’ve ended up where we are. Does he think that we avoided the floods because we left the EU? Or is it that the EU aren’t worth being a member of because they failed to stop the rain?

What are you on about? Flloding in Germany is the govn fault which shows how good a govn we have here? Fuck me thats a strangled argument.

We had Grenfell. To date Germany hasnt had more 72 people die in poorly cladded flats... Hows that NOT our govn fault using your methods of comparison? Jeez what an empty argument

Why would anyone mention floods in Germany in the context of UK-EU relations? Genuinely puzzled.

When there were floods here they had their own thread iirc. I'm sure you could start one on floods in Germany if you wanted but I doubt it would be relevant to the politics forum unless you are aware that their flood planning was criminally negligent due to political interference.

Or reading the Express.
I know you were joking but if there was a Brexit angle to the German floods that could be made up the Express would have done it. Having checked, even they couldn't think of anything and their article is not unreasonably relating it to climate change.

Has the climate changed?

That'll be another fucking diktat from Brussels. Did you vote for climate change? No. Nobody did. But the climate changed anyway. Introduced in the Eurocrat's usual backhanded way - no publicity, no consultation. Just quietly implemented while we're all paying attention to something else. You watch, the EU army will happen in exactly the same way. This climate change is completely undemocratic. Still, that's the EU for you.

No wonder we left.
