Now as we obviously see in this sub forum football fans here can agree to love our club, but can completely be on different ends of the political spectrum.

Now across the world their are teams known to be left or right leaning

Left wing
AS Livorno Calcio (Italy) Celtic F.C (Scotland) AEK Athens (Greece) Barcelona (Spain) Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany) St Pauli (Germany) Athletic Bilbao (Spain) PFC Lokomotiv Sofia (Bulgaria) U.C Sampdoria (Italy) Polonia Warszawa (Poland) Arka Gdyniya (Poland) Malmo FF (Sweden) Bohemians 1905 (Czech Republic) Hapoel Tel Aviv FC (Israel) FC Arsenal Kyiv (Ukraine) Olympique de Marseilles (France) Besiktas (Turkey) Impact de Montreal (Canada) Seattle Sounders FC (USA) U.S.D. Virtus Verona (Italy) Vasco Da Gama(Brazil) AC Omonoia Nicosia (Cyprus) Sporting Toulon (France) Bologna F.C. 1909 I(taly) Portland Timbers(USA) Standard de Liège (Belgium) Adana Demirspor (Turkey) Girondins de Bordeaux (France) AS Saint Etienne (France) Partizan Minsk (Belarus) SF Babelsberg 03 (Germany) TSV 1860 München (Germany) Werder Bremen (Germany) Rayo Vallecano (Spain) FSV Mainz (Germany)

Right-wing clubs or clubs with right-wing/fascist ultras:

Zenit St Petersburg (Russia) S.S Lazio (Italy) Rangers FC (Scotland) Spartak Moscow (Russia) Lokomotiv Moscow FC (Russia) Real Madrid C.F (Spain) Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) A.S Roma (Italy) LKS Lodz (Poland) Helsingborgs IF (Sweden) S.L Benfica (Portugal- known to have some left-wing supporters) Hamburg (Germany) Partizan (Serbia) Chelsea (England) Hellas Verona F.C. (Italy) Sporting Lisbon (Portugal) Millwall (England) Atletico Madrid (Spain) FC Twente (Holland) Shamrock Rovers (Ireland) Paris St Germain (France) Legia (Poland) Olympique de Lyon (France) Lille (France) Racing Club (Argentina) APOEL Nicosia (Cyprus) Hansa Rostock (Germany) Olympiakos (Greece) Beitar Jerusalem (Israel) Dinamo Minsk (Belarus)
Karpaty Lviv (Ukraine) Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine) Feyenoord Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Now what this shows is English football is pretty apolitical with the exception of the well known chelsea combat 18 lot.

Now is that changing?

Firstly the EDL, liked to recruit from football fans and now it's re-incarnation the FLA has firmly targeted recruiting normal fans to their right leaning cause.

A new group called Football lads and lasses against facism has been started up to counter the FLA which has already being seen as a place left wing football fans can rally under.

Could we actually see a split between fans down political devides as the country polarises itself more along left/right feeling

And will football fans be used as a tool for the agendas of others more than before?

Last week a socialist bookstore was attacked by far right thugs, some belived to be kippers.

Yesterday at a event at the same book store by a left wing group it was attacked again but this time by FLA members led by Vinnie Sullivan and the small group were chased off but openly fighing in the streets and not even on a fan v fan basis is more than just bit concerning.

Now it is a worry that football, a sport that can bring up emotional outbursts and occasionally violence could be used as recruiting tool for extreme groups.

I don't worry so much about city we have probably an even mix of left/right and centre, but football in general

Shamrock Rovers? Right wing? 'Kinell.

Also PSG have two sets of ultras, one on either side.

The lists were (not mine btw) compiled from a list of clubs off several fans sights and researches into politocs in football

Shamrock have been mention on a few, they have an apparent affinity with romas ultras plus there was astory and pics going about other year in Tev aviv where they were doing nazi salutes in the europa

Boulogne Boys were the dominant fans group at PSG and were far right, thoigh the club has managed to stem the tide recently

Rovers fans like to cause a ruckus mate but there's fuck all political about it. If anything I'd say their supporter base is Sinn Fein/Labour/Fianna Fail inclined (left wing). In fact, very little right wing politics in Ireland full stop, Fine Gael are our right wing party and they're somewhere to the left of New Labour. Closest fanbases here are probably Drogheda and Shelbourne.

There were another ultra group at PSG that were exclusively made up of immigrants and very left wing, they're the lads that started fighting the BB when we played them in the UEFA Cup back in Clueless' time.

Know about the other ultra left with fans groups at PSG, but the main on it the far right group which scraps with marsielle.

As for shamrock rovers I have no idea but they were listed and tbh not a major part of my original point

Fair enough. Politics has always been part of continental football tbh and always will be while the likes of Real Madrid have more affluent/liberal fans and Atleti have working class fans hurt more by immigration.
Also, the likes of Bilbao are more Basque Nationalist than left wing, the left wing bit came about as opposition to the federal government. Similar with Celtic.
