I know this isn't a Bluemoon problem but I presume ric won't mind this query.

When I watch video on the mcfc site on my PC, it's great quality, but when I watch the same footage on my iPad it's rubbish. However other youtube videos are of a good quality on the iPad

Can anyone help? It must be something simple.

Thanks in advance.

Probably a codec issue, see if it happens using another browser.
Try firefox if apple are not complete bastards and have it on the app store.

Maybe a codec pack with good h.264 playback and or flash addon for your browser.

Edit forget the flash as html5

When you say poor quality, does the green look mottled? I suspect it's possibly because the video is HTML5. We ran some tests on various bits of media software recently and we reported the same thing.

It's just blurred, poor resolution etc. I'm talking about MCFCTV's official content on the site. If I view the same content through YouTube it's perfect

The videos on Youtube and the OS both have a function that looks at the device that you're viewing it on, looks at the speed of download and automaticaly adjusts the quality based on those statistics as lower quality means small download means less interruptions.

The one on the MCFC site is tempremental and useless, and often downgrades you for little reason. I suspect that they are downgrading quality based on traffic too but I couldn't be sure

Yes I have the same problem Dave. I watch the youtube channel. However for match highlights I have to watch the official site, as they are not on Youtube. This is very frustrating as it is like watching blurry porridge.

Surely this is something that the OS should rectify.

Apple ipad and Flash are not good bedfellows, basically, the ipad converts the flash to QuickTime, on the fly, in real time but to do so it sacrifices quality. It's a major pisser for me too, as I do most things on ipad, not my iMac.
Steve Jobs didn't like Flash, so blame him

I bought the City app for my iPad1 around 3 years ago, I think it was £4.99.
The videos I watch seem ok but I need to upgrade my IOS from 4 or later to get full value because the format is all over the place.

The video is a flash stream but when you open it on a mobile device, it switches to an mp4 format, there are several bit rates available, it selects one based on your connection speed.

Not only poor video quality on ipad but cannot buy tickets through the website on it either. I know mcfc are at the forefront of technology and it's uses but I would have thought buying tickets might be something you could do on any device.
To do with Flash, which isn't supported on the iPad.
