Porto (A) - CL | Post-Match Thread

We rested a lot of key players (like many in the pre match thread wanted), played without a striker, and went away to a strong side and were unlucky not to win and still comfortably kept a clean sheet.

Puts us in a great position for the weekend!

So you want to presumably spent £150m on two world class strikers and have one sit on the bench all season?

Or are we signing an injury prone one so the other can get some game time, or maybe change to two up front which Pep has played maybe 5 times

We don’t have to spend 150m

Well tell the ref's assistant to stick the flag up being no more than 10 yards away if nothing resulting could have come from stopping the play ?
Do you not understand the rules.Linesmen have been told not to do so and if a goal is scored VAR should correctly confirm.that it was a legitimate goal ... or not in our case.

Problem is once you introduce technology to make decisions a toenail is enough. Although the line manipulation is no way accurate enough to be within a toenail. . I don’t celebrate a goal until they kickoff again now. Much rather have bad decisions than this crap...scrap it
Isn’t that what we all loved about football, that spontaneous celebration when a goal is scored. That is now PERMANENTLY gone. My lack of interest over the last year has nothing to do with empty stadiums and everything to do with VAR.

Porto ain’t not mugs they parked the bus at home and they settled for the draw not us we went there to win! Oh Porto players and there manager are a disgrace to the game for minute 1 to 95 cheating like he fuck! It is ruining the game as much as var is now and nothing be done about it.

So are you claiming he was NOT offside ? Change them blue tinted glasses mate.
As I said, the lines showed he was, but how many frames has the VAR operator advanced to show he was off?

Genuine answer is we don't know, and therein lies the crux of the problem. They could easily have rolled it back a few frames and shown him onside also.

IT'S SUBJECTIVE, and actually worse than the Assistant Referee making the decision.
