Brilliant piece (after getting over the fancy words), could not stop reading it.

Sums up Pep’s first season and the transition to the prem league.

Exciting times ahead now Pep has got the system and the players are getting it as well.

Very pretentious. One thing the author doesn't throw into his psychoanalysis of last season is the effect of incompetent/ cheating officials. Nonetheless, an interesting overview of Pep's thinking and tactics. Thanks for posting PB.

A very interesting read, although as you say, a little pretentious at times. It makes you realise more how Pep had been re-assessing his approach throughout last season but you can also sense he feels City are still not there, just yet. We're all going to enjoy how this season unfolds as Guardiola tries to attain perfection on the pitch.

Thanks for a fascinating post. I am convinced by the argument that defenders have built in advantages over attackers and that Pep is on a continuous quest to overturn that. The detailed tactical analysis, well, not so convincing. It does, however, explain why Pep has finally settled on a deep lying playmaker role for Kevin. Maureen, of course, doesn't need to agonise, he just parks that damn bus and has an easy life.
