  • Pep balance sheet still has many more positives in than negative, and perhaps City fans now have a more realistic view of his traits.
  • The last time Sterling came under pressure (England) he responded by significantly improving his game. Sterling is an enigma. He's a fantastic talent and has an incredibly high ceiling. For every goal he scores he misses two so imagine what he is capable of. That miss may galvanise him. He's already shown he's a tough driven character.
  • We had a tough time with injuries last season: we lost Laporte for half a season, and Sane for all of it. Now Laporte is back, and we have added Ake and Torres. We're stronger than we were then in the first half of the season.
  • Fernandinho and David Silva are unlikely to be used next season. Pep played them, and rarely did it work.
  • Foden, Garcia, Harwood-Bellis and Doyle have immense promise. Foden is going to be special and Harwood-Bellis looks very good.
  • I think the CL disappointment could go both ways. It could accelerate dismay and decline, but it could also shock Pep out of a dalliance with stupid slow midfield ploys which have almost always ended in disaster. I refer to the Fernandinho, Rodri, Silva and Gundogan partnership.
  • Rodri had a tough introduction. He knows now what to expect. He also suffered from occasionally being used in different roles.
  • Bernardo had a personally difficult time I'd imagine with the Bernardo tweet, and he went from being a player on the edge of superstardom to a player who couldn't get in our side.
  • The CL disappointment might trigger investment in the side, or it might trigger some thought about how we integrate young players into the side.
  • Liverpool will find it difficult to defend the title. Everyone does. They are not suited to breaking down parked buses, and everyone will park their bus home and away. This will shock them.
  • We're all suffering from Covid but rivals like Utd, Arsenal, Spurs are going to be hit harder due to their match-day income losses.
  • This season we had to cope with the loss of Kompany. At the same time we were also losing Fernandinho and Silva as regulars. There will be no such dip next season.
  • UEFA/CAS is over. This has killed the joy for a lot of fans. We are free at last.
  • Etihad development. Will there be any announcements?

We still haven't replaced any of them though. I think Bernardo and Foden will have us covered for Silva. But we need to replace Kompany and Fernandinho (and perhaps Agüero) asap.
