An adaptation of the Possession rules of some club.
Most teams don’t worry about possession. Lots of English fans, and more annoyingly commentators, often mock it. "Tippy tappy" they call it, and accuse those who do it of trying to walk the ball into the net. But the truth is this, if you coallate the results of every team that have ever had over 65% of possession, you would find that their is a 90% or higher victory rate. Simply put, if you dominate possession, you wil seldom lose.
The logic of possession is twofold. Firstly, while you have the ball, the other team can’t score. You see, the main reason why Stoke scored today was simply because they had the ball.
You don't even need to have good tacklers, so long as you continue to possess the ball, you'd have little need for tackling, In essense ball possession is a defensive tactic. Literally, the goal should be to play keep away from the beginning
Second, when your team has the ball, the other team has to chase it, and that is exhausting. When the opponents win it back, they are often so tired that they surrender it again immediately. In other words, Possession begets more possession and eventually creates a virtuous cycle.
In other words we want to win 90% of the remaining games guaranteed, play our best passers on the field. Forget every other quality, and stick to the passers. We will come thru. Other wise we will crash.
Again, possession is nine-tenths of the game.
