Why is there only a few posts per page on BM? Should be twice as many. All this changing pages every 10 seconds is annoying the shit out of me!
You just seem to get more adds per page on other forums thoughThought it for years. Smallest pages of any forum i can think off, probably to keep reloading adds = more add revenue.
There should be 10 per page, if you have less then it's because you've got people on ignore. Why is there only a few posts per page on BM? Should be twice as many. All this changing pages every 10 seconds is annoying the shit out of me!
Fair enough boss. It's difficult to keep everyone happy - some people prefer fewer posts per page so they don't have to scroll for ages, whilst others prefer more posts and less changing pages.
The old forum software allowed users to choose the number of posts per page in their settings, but unfortunately the new software doesn't allow that yet.
You can change the settings on a sitewide basis, but that needs to be done right at the very beginning when the forum is first set up. Changing that retrospectively breaks links all over the place and causes a logistical nightmare. The reason is that the forum URLs include the page number (e.g. http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/eu-referendum.319847/page-1353), so obviously changing the number of posts per page would mess all those links up.
Hopefully in the future the forum software developers will address this, so that users can choose their own settings again but until then it will have to remain at 10 per page I'm afraid.
