Just wondered if they still meet at 8 on the first Wednesday of the month at Poynton Sports Club?

Looking to join. Are they still an active group?

Any other information would be great e.g. travel arrangements for games; tickets etc

They're still active as far as the official supporters club are concerned , it would seem.......

They are still active and have a decent set up.

Do you live local mate? If you do another easy way is to go and see Stig or James at Stig's shop in the village. They help out quite a bit with the suppoters club.

Bumping a decade+ old thread because I've not been able to figure out how to get in touch another way. The official site says "not accepting applications this season" and there doesn't seem to be a twitter or FB page.

Just moved to Poynton a couple of weeks ago and getting back from weekday matches has been an ordeal with rail replacements, etc. so far. Just wondering if they run a coach or anything for matches or anyone puts on a minibus. I could always drive myself, but fighting through the traffic after midweek games really fucks me off. Plus I like a pint.

As far as i know it still very much runs from the sports club and run a bus.

Best bet is just call in to the sports club and ask if they have contact details

The coach goes from the Legion normally to home games . Leaves 2hours before . No meetings unless something special .

I inquired about Poynton supporters' club via the City site about 6 months ago I was only trying to get some info rather than join it , but the City link converted my inquiry into a full application to join. The site said my application was being " assessed" even though I wasn't actually applying then a few hours later said my application was declined. I think it may be because they were not accepting new members at that time, although I must admit I would never dream of of joining a club that would accept me as a member, to quote a certain Mr Marx !

I used to be in poynton branch in early 80’s,Peter hunt used to run it back then, there were coaches to home games and away games, which used to leave outside the legion, the coach company was bostocks.used to pick up in bollington & macc as well
