Not looking for financial advice here but has anyone pursued a PPI claim? If so does the system work? PM me if you don't want to post but i may have a case to bring up.

Thanks for any helpful experiences.

Should have said, I mean claim back of the mis-sold premium.

I run a claims management company and PPI claims are the core of our business at the mo. Currently do about 30 per week.

For anyone who wants to know:

Payment Protection Insurance (PPI), also known as Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI), Accident Sickness and Unemplyment (ASU) has been miss-sold accross the whole spectrum. Providers of said products have been fined millions by the financial regulator (Financial Ombudsman Service) and its believed that less than 5% of PPI products will ever actually pay the amount the consumer is supposedly covered for.

There are over 20 million contracts out there and most aint worth a piss.

You may have it on your credit cards, mortgage, car loans (notorious), hp on goods i.e furniture, and any other credit agreement. If you do, its highly likely that you can claim the amount you have paid to them back as the chances of you getting a suuccesful claim should you need to is negligible, so if you have this type of insurance, claim it back.

You may not even know you have it as the selling process was the dodgiest since Chelsea tried to sign a 16 yr old!!!

Best news is it costs you nothing to make a claim but the average compensation claim at present is £2400.

If you want anymore info then PM me, and dont worry if you think you may have PPi and want some advice, thats all il give ya.

Majority of claimants are people blaming other people for their stupity.

Getting more like america everyday.

On this subject fella, you know not what you are talking about.

This is not a 'make up an accident' type claim, these are genuine claims against providers who have put a completely invalid insurance poilcy, which generated huge commissions for their sales staff, onto a genuine credit agreement. In many cases they never even told the recipient that they had lumped it on.

Nothing wrong with correct cover, but fact is 96% (ish) are completely innapropriate and wont pay out.

Nothing at all to do with 'peoples stupidity'

Always good to do even a little bit of research if you are going to comment on a subject.

I do know what i am talking about, however in this instance I read "PI" as in Personal injury instead of "PPI" as in Payment Protection Insurance and jumped in head first.

So I stand by my comment regarding Personal Injury claims but retract it in respect of PPI (which is what the thread is about).

My mistake which I realised after Joycees post, however I did not want to admit it and hoped this topic would slide down the page.
