Reformed sociopath- Just trying to be....nice.
Are they really necessary? Do we need a five minute lecture on the plight of the third world with flashing electronic paraphanalia to a captive audience?
Or is it right that we should be informed, nay, instructed about these "issues" in our leisure time?

Personally I have no problem with it via the media because I can choose to turn the TV/radio over or off at any time. But when I have just forked out £35 for an afternoon of football with my impressionable son, is it right that we should have subliminable messages pumped at us in our seats?
There's a lot of talk about freedom of thought on this forum but if it's a "right on ishoo" no one raises an eyebrow.

Whoever is responsible should do one with their Orwellian brainwashing tactics in my opinion, Particularly when there are children present and nobody bothered to ask my/our permission.

Or am I wrong to reject the tactics of the Eastern Block?

Perhaps if you gave more specific details some of us might have a clue what you're on about!

No different to any other adverts we have had for years.

"We have cornered the market" etc every corner.

50/50 split so far then.
Yeah it was a long message about hunger in the third world that went on and on before kick off.
Now I'm not disagreeing with the message-how could I?

What I do find a little insideous is that someone has decided it would be a good idea to broadcast messages at football matches now. I don't like being frontloaded information, especially in my own time. And I think it's the thin end of the wedge.

It never happened years ago. What if there is an ulterior motive?
What if they get us all used to messages that no one could possibly disagree with like banishing famine in the world, and gradually introduced government propaganda in it's place.
What if they started to extol the virtues of GM foods for example, or pro life arguments.

I'd rather make my own mind up if it's all the same. Keep politics out of football.

This won't go down well with our commercial dept but I don't even subliminally notice what's on the flashy new ad boards at the stadium! I honestly haven't got a clue what was being advertised yesterday for example.
