Pre match nerves

I have noticed a strange phenomenon in recent months.

I don't appear to suffer from the same nagging anxiety I used to in the run up to games.
Before this, I use to start churning games over from the middle of the week in anticipation, building up to the night before games when I often would struggle to get to sleep.
I would wake up on the morning of game days and immediately get butterflies .
As for derby games, I would be a nervous wreck for days in advance.
Over the last few months this has stopped happening so much.
I now approach kick off with a serene sense that everything is going to be all right.
Whereas this is good for my nerves I do miss that nervous emotional build up in a funny old way.
Don't get me wrong, I still get excited about it but it feels different.
I suppose it's a natural process getting used to this winning mentality, but I somehow miss that feeling of being the proverbial underdogs when coming up against the bigger teams.
Does going in as favourites take something away from the feeling you get winning?

Just wondering if any of you experiencing the same.

i know that feeling very well most of the nerves have stopped before match days and i have this underlying confidence in city which is quite scary.

Wierd isn't it? I was only saying the other day that i don't get my old ominous feeling walking into any ground we play at anymore. Even walking from the tram to the swamp the other Sunday - I felt calm, no real butterflies etc. Bring it on. Just can't get used to us being good - I suppose this will change with time though.

The key is that the players don`t rest on their laurels and get complacent. Bobby needs to manage that and just needs to look across the road to see how to do it. I think Kiddo`s experience at the swamp will help. His interview after the FA Cup win was excellent and exactly the right mentality we need.

I get them before our Champions league fixtures, but not really for the league with exception of the derby. Probably will feel it for the bigger teams though.

i get them worse now, i just want us to keep winning so badly. we're top of the league and everyone is talking about us.

Doesn't work for me, in fact things are worse these days. Every match now seems to have significance, every league game has been important for the last 3 seasons, every cup match is important because we could end up actually winning things whereas when we were mediocre I just got used to not winning and it didn't matter so much. Now, the consequences of not winning or losing make me feel worse before and during games. Even after our great start this season I still have this sinking feeling before matches.
Help.
