Just a realist...ffs some of you had about 5 down for their debuts against wba this time last week...get real....you think Chelsea would start fuckin about throwing untried kids in for say Cahill&Terry? It's not fantasy football...
christ like the poster said before keep your knickers on

See no reason why denayer or Kelechi wont get mintues in the coming games. And chelsea gave plenty of mintues to a 19 year old last season btw......

Chelsea played 3 youth players in a Champions League game last year.

So yeah, I do.

Denayer is not a untired kid , he's a full international with European experience

I think yesterday would have been a good opportunity to bring Denayer on from the bench rather than Demichellis. Put him in that 'stopper' position infront of the other 2 CB's when the game is done and dusted and give him some experience. I can't argue too much with Aguero and Nasri coming on though - they need to get up to full match fitness and minutes for them are more important than Iheanacho and Lopes.

Its been discussed before but I think denayer could potentially make a great midfielder, his best attributes are his touch and passing ability.

He can be one of the bets defenders in the world or an average midfielder. I nominate we keep him where he is, he doesn't have the brain of a midfielder

Why would you say he hasnt got the brain?

No chance he will become a midfielder anyway but I would be interested to see how he'd do as I do slighty feel his footballing ability is wasted at the back.

always remember this at goal 1.18 perfect example of his skill on the ball.

Why would you say he hasnt got the brain?

He can't see the game enough, he's a reactive defender at the moment and to be honest his passing just isn't as good as people are making out. He's primarily a stocky defender who can use his power and get his head on the ball, his technical ability isn't really the be all of his game. People see him as a Belgian who likes to carry the ball on occasion and immediately think Kompany but he's closer to Lescott with a bit more technical ability than Kompany with little experience

I would imagine youth will be given a chance when the time for the club and the player is right.

Many asked why Nacho or Denayer weren't given a run last night. Nasri, Demichelis and Sergio all needed minutes. Much more than two youth players with a full and extensive pre season behind them.

When Bony & Aguero are both fit, it will be nice see Nacho given some game time. With regards Denayer. Kompany and Mangala need games, games together. Mangala is slowly showing signs of why we've bought him. People seriously want him and his form being interrupted.

Time will come. If we don't sign another centre half that shows faith in Denayer more than a few minutes in midfield in a game that's dead. If we don't sign another striker, that certainly shows more faith in Nacho than a few pointless minutes. The trust looks like it's been put on these young players, they are now 'first team' players and therefore will be treated accordingly.

Demichelis, Nasri, Sergio and Zabaleta were and righly so above Nacho and Denayer in terms of importance when it comes to game time. If Silva gets injured in mid week, or Bony or Kompany those 20-25 minutes back in the Prem will be invaluable.

When the dust of the summer settles and our squad is finalised I'd expect youth to be given their chance.

Really want to see Zuculini get some game time this year.

Think Denayer will get a fair bit. Sellers loves to change his CBs ;)

It will depend on injuries. I touched on it in the post match thread but I wonder how many people that are so eager to see Denayer play are the same ones that believe we should stop constantly changing our back 4? Why is it suddenly ok to do it just because the player coming in is an academy graduate? We seem to elevate them above players we've bought in for no reason other than they've come through our academy. It's wrong to look at them that way. Fact is, they are all part of the first team squad now and management won't see them as foreign players and academy graduates, they'll see them all as first team players that will play purely based on their ability and form. Kelechi is the third best forward we have, Denayer is the 4th best centre back we have, if you want to move them pointlessly out of position then Denayer is probably the 5/6 maybe even 7th best player we could put in the DM role. Cup games they'll play but in terms of the league i don't expect any of them to feature much until we have either injuries or a loss of form in their positions. basing it purely on numbers and likely injuries, i predict we'll see kelechi first as there's only 2 players infront of him and 1 of them is prone to injury.

Even CB's need a rest sometimes, especially when Champions League starts. I don't see Denayer as just coming up through the EDs and being thrown straight in, he's just won a league winners medal in Scotland, played Champions League football, and won his first couple of senior competitive caps for Belgium, one of the current top national sides.

he's rated just about as highly as can be, so to be given a chance at some point soon isn't asking too much, surely?

No doubt one or two will get some minutes here and there but barring injuries, I doubt any will start league games for a while. Full debuts are more likely to be in cup games.
