Premier League clubs vote against 5 subs per match in 20/21

Happy it’s back to 3 subs , as far as I can see it was used to kill a game by multiple subs after 80 minutes having 5 subs , a time wasting tactic

This is just flat out not true. Teams were still limited to having 3 opportunities to make subs during a game. it was literally impossible to waste any more time then they could with 3.

No surprise it’s been kept at 3.

Everything has its pros and cons. Best thing to do is outline them at the meeting rather than go the ‘gap in team quality, unfair advantage’ route. It is what it is.

Not surprised the Germans voted to keep it at 5. Thankfully, I don’t watch press conferences anymore. Will not have to hear PL managers moaning about fixture pile up and injuries.

What a surprise, the clubs vote against an actual good and beneficial proposal. I really hope we get to see the voting so that we can see the irony in all it’s glory when a club that voted against it has their manager moaning about injuries and fixture pile ups halfway through the season. Beyond stupid decision.

You didnt put "IMO".

Italy are going to follow Germany & France in keeping 5 subs. Spain still discussing it.

Looks like good old INGURLAND will be standing alone in their attempt to kill players by condensing a standard 10 month season into 8 1/2 months (off the back of a 3 weeks break between seasons)

In a league that is more intense, and in German's case, has four more games for each side to play.

Genius!

Jamie Carragher and people of similar IQ have voiced their objections without giving any credible reason though so they must be right and the rest of Europe are wrong.

Before even the draw for the group stages I’m predicting a very poor showing from all English clubs across both European competitions this year predominantly down to this rule. The other sides are going to be so much better conditioned than the premier league players.

With massive squads it makes sense to at least have one more. Why not a home grown quota - one of the extra subs used must be a youth product, say 17-22yrs?
