Premier League & COVID discussion | 4 positive cases now required for postponement

Klopp is firmly against stopping it.
To be fair to him he questioned the outbreak at the swamp.

As long as all safety protocols are rigidly maintained and clubs manage the cases well it shouldn't be a problem.

I suppose whatever keeps
s £££££ to the premier league will be done.

This is what they should do.

A game is suspended if 5 first team players from 1 team are positive on the morning of the game.

However, only vaccinated players count.

If you've got 8 players missing but 4 of them are unvaccinated, tough shit, replace them with kids. If your kids are all positive, tough shit, forfeit.

Apparently only 68% of PL players are double vaccinated. I think it's becoming really obvious that some clubs have not tried to get their players vaccinated and are seeing much worse outbreaks. Maybe that's due to the vaccination rate, but maybe low vax rate indicates how seriously they're taking the whole coronavirus threat in the first place. How strict are things around the ground, are the players exposing themselves to the virus unnecessarily, are the non-football staff keeping on top of it?

Pep's been quite vocal about getting vaccinated, we had an outbreak at the club but it was stopped quickly. Some clubs are having outbreaks for 2 weeks and getting 20+ people infected. Liverpool, who are 99% vaccinated according to Klopp, haven't had any issues.

Postponing the whole league just puts the problem further down the line. It doesn't solve anything except for the clubs who get major outbreaks.
What if it’s only 3 players infected but they’re all goalkeepers?

Southampton were allowed to sign Willy Caballero on a short term contract.
That rule will still apply, not sure if Southsmptons keepers are injured or covid.

But if you've got all your senior keepers out with covid the game will be called off.
