Omnicron has only just started in Italy (with only 84 cases so far) so they are behind us in the curve. I do agree though they will be better placed with so many footballers jabbed over there. It does mean they can be confident their players will suffer only minor illness.
What does interest me is what are the insurance companies doing? These world-class players are insured for hundreds of millions of pounds because of the career-threatening injury risk they face. Long Covid could finish a career for anyone. You would think the insurers would be demanding that all players are vaccinated. The insurance business is built on risk and the risk from Covid is much greater than the risk of vaccine side effects.
