Premier League Games 12/13/14 September

Given the handball that put them through it was clear then that The Fix was in

Yes by the same ref that had screwed us over before. Within seconds the guy next to me had a replay on his phone showing the clear handball. The ref looks at the monitor for an age and gives the goal. I knew then we were screwed and there was a clear agenda against us. I cancelled my champions league ticket subscription after that.

It's totally killed the game. Before it was a quick glance at the ref and linesman, if they were pointing to the middle you carried on going mad. The moment that sticks in my mind was the Spurs champions league game at home. A fantastic game, one minute of injury time left, Sterling smashes the ball in the net. Total bedlam, Spurs players collapsed on the ground, Pep and the subs going mad, the ref has given it, total elation. Then the bloody check. Agueros toe is offside or something. Something about going to a game just died that night.

I generally agree but on this occasion he was offside by more than a toe.

I think he would have been flagged offside without var.

the problem is they keep flagdown for “tight” ones and check afterwards.

so really we lost out on having the opportunity to create another legal chance as they don’t rewind the clock and they would have all been emotionally drained anyway

Nobody had flagged, the ref gave the goal, without var it would have stood. Spurs players accepted it, nobody appealed.

Without var they would have flagged.

they are keeping their flag down because ofvar

2 penalties in the first game of the season, at the start and the end of the game.

Seems a bit suspect to me!

The first one was suspect, Oliver couldn't point to the spot fast enough. A footballer uses his arms for balance, if not we might as well tie them behind their backs. Expect more no dispute penalties for the rags and dippers all season.

That's the key difference between how United and Liverpool are reffered vs every one else, in particular us.

For them, the officials look for a reason to give it, for us they look for a reason not to.

I don't think the keep the flag down rule was being applied then, particularly in Europe. That was the sickener but the handball goal was what really did it for me.
