Premier League Games 12/13/14 September

Going off the opening weekend of football so far I can see this season simply petering out.

There's no way the Government can sanction the return of fans due to increasing number of Covid cases.

No fans, no atmosphere, no integrity (yes VAR I'm looking at you) and once the second wave hits no appetite for the completion of the season.

Totally agree - I am honestly wondering if I will ever get my passion for premiership football back.

It is far from perfect but better than the alternative of having no football at all.

Society has to keep a sense of normality and with all those restrictions, and you add sport being stopped, peoples discontent would quickly grow.

Of course its being kept going for non-altruistic reasons but football has a vital role to play in peoples lives right now, more than ever.

The role football has is the match day experience and watching down the pub if you can't get to a game. Sitting at home watching with no crowd and spitboy and Tyler talking shit ruins the whole experience for me I'm afraid

We are all the same, but when this is over we need a game to come back to. This is the only way to preserve that.

You are talking about the top league in Scotland? Our league is called the Premier League. ( I once shared a table on a train with an executive from the Premier League post match from Piccadilly to Euston and she corrected me every time I said Premiership for two and a bit hours. I can't stop myself correcting others now, sorry.)

This team in blue that's not really Neverton is it ? I mean they have put a couple of passes together and even Pickford hasn't booted the ball up field yet !

For you maybe but for many, and a much greater number than the matchgoing crowd, their enjoyment of football is through the tv. To lose it would be to remove an escapism for a lot of people from the reality of life. A case in point, will be the increase in interest and volume in posts on this forum once football starts.
