If you’re going to have VAR it has to be totally transparent and run by competent and honest people, otherwise the sense of injustice just snowballs even when the correct decision is reached as with the Giroud offside.

I don't know the answer. Maybe var is given to overseas officials or something?

Neville says he doesn’t get the offside as it’s black and white so no room for ambiguity. But from a fans perspective a goal can be offside when a forward has his back to goal and a heel stuck out by an inch ( Wolves and Villa ) but Mane’s goal when there is contact with the defender stands. Which player is gaining the biggest advantage in both those situations? Which one is more deserving of being disallowed?
