It isn't ridiculous, especially when you don't yet know what the cause was...

Could be absolutely anything which could impact the safety of others in the stadium..

Don't think they've abandoned the game, think the police/medics are eventually going to get the poor bloke on a stretcher and go across the pitch so they've suspended the game for ease of access.
