Going back to the penalty, once an infield decision has been made the directive is to go with that unless it’s clear and obvious. VAR took ages and still couldn’t decide so they effectively influenced the ref by telling him to have a look and the freeze frame he looked at initially just showed Romero falling to the floor with the ball hitting his arm.

They are making these rules up on a weekly basis.
