Lloris has not adapted to the needs of top keepers. Not good enough on the ball.
True, but statistically he's consistently one of the best keepers in the league, if not the best when it comes to shot stopping. I don't think top keepers necessarily need to be competent with the ball at their feet for most teams. Not yet anyway.

The best teams (which isn't most teams) need the best keepers who are competent with their feet.

Yes necessarily. Assuming the team wants to push to be better, they can of course stay in their lane.

Make a list of the top 5-10 keepers in the world.

Now look at your list and notice almost all of them are better on the ball than Lloris.
