Premier League (midweek) Games 10/11/12 May '22

How this guy sleeps at night...

Leeds: 29 "successful tackles", 13 fouls, 1 yellow.
City: 9 successful tackles, 3 fouls, 2 yellows.

Spurs: 12 successful tackles, 3 fouls 1 yellow.
Arse: 1 successful tackle, 8 fouls, 2 yellows into a red and a penalty conceded.

Agree about the penalty. But just saw another angle of Holding's second offence. Definitely a second yellow card. Arguably, a straight red.

It was also his 3rd foul after the yellow inside 30 mins.

If he’d not been sent off for the forearm, there’s have been another in 5 minutes.

Its how he is officiating compared to how he officiated us v Leeds a few weeks ago. What he blatantly ignored by Leeds on us, he is now giving everything to Spurs

Well said.

There is no explanation for such a differing approach from the same official other than it’s very deliberate.

Why?

It is conceivable that he has been told off for his performance at Leeds and told not to ref like that again.

Our fanbase has gone proper weird about referee corruption. It’s sad to see to be honest.

Holding should have been given a straight red for that shoulder into Son’s head. He meant to do it. Even Rudiger didn’t mean to do what he did to de Bruyne last year, he just tried to body check him and ended up coming off with a fracture.
I see it all the time, I’d say at least 10% of the posters here think EVERY decision is a conspiracy. When in reality, all these decisions come out in the wash over the course of the season.

I am gutted though. I HATE Spurs, more than any other team in world football. I hate their fans, the fact they feel they are owed a place amongst the elite. Honestly, I prefer rags/dippers over that mob. Vile club.

This is a bit stupid isn’t it?

Firstly there’s no correlation between number of fouls and yellow cards, you can have multiple fouls not worth anything and one that’s a stonewall yellow.

Secondly, if Tierney was bad at Leeds then he would have been told to change his approach when the game was reviewed at PGMOL, so yes, obviously he’s changed.

You can’t be upset at a refereeing performance and then be upset he doesn’t referee like that in every game.

Rob Holding has not been hard done by at all.
