Well done. But you seem to have forgotten that the actual season stops in May and a new one starts in August, so that was a waste of time wasn't it !

There's a three game difference in games played with some teams. So what is the actual point of it ?

Yes, I am actually aware when the season starts and finishes, thank you.

But it's still interesting to view results on an annual basis, as most of the world tends to do things this way.

-- Sun Jan 01, 2012 5:22 pm --

The table underneath, with the average points won per game, levels things out.

It would be if all the teams had played the same number of matches, as they haven't it's a bit of a pointless exercise.

Jesus Christ, give the guy a break.

Why ?
Because he's put in time and effort to create this.

Create what ? a chart that has no meaning ? His comment to me that most of the world tend to view it on a yearly basis is ridiculous. ALL football fans view the league on a season to season basis so what exactly is the point of this. It is similar to the stat that $ky were putting out the other day, "looking at the last 15 games Tottenham have the best results by far" .............
becasue they have selected the last 15 matches they dont include the 5-1 thrashing, so again something that is actually pointess.

Alan Shearer had it right on MOTD the other night when he laughed about his "record" of scoring 36 goals in a calendar year and said "I didn't even know about this until you told me, and I know all of my records, but they're all over a season not a calendar year."

it's a really stupid set of statistics
it's taking into account teams you've played that are no longer in the league, we could have played only one of the relegated teams and united all three
we are three games below united yet the fool says this is accounted for in the 'average' points table, what bollocks, the three games could all be at home against very winnable teams where you pick up nine points! Football is not based on averages of points per game otherwise we'd all end up in the same position over the years

just proves what i've said all along, this prick knows fuck all about football as he's too far up his own arse in stats

stats are crap..... another pointless american influence. i m with w.churchill on this.

Wait til those teams near the bottom play their 20 games in hand, then it'll get interesting.
