The Premier League season will resume on Wednesday June 17 – with Aston Villa at home to Sheffield United and Manchester City hosting Arsenal.

The two matches are in the ‘games in hand’ that will take all the 20 clubs up to 29 matches and have huge ramifications at both ends of the table.

Another Premier League game may be played on Friday June 19 but the full round of fixtures will start on Saturday June 20 with matches staggered across the weekend.

Why can’t cricket start before 1st of August?

If it’s purely money it’s sad state of affairs! Make no mistake people will die if football does start then it’s to early.
Whatever the opinions on whether we should finish the season, I doubt football whether here,Germany, Spain behind closed doors will cause any deaths.

It is a piss poor example to be setting when social distancing is still being insisted upon. I know buisnesses who are putting employees through the disciplinary process if they fsil to keep to the 2 mtr rules and here we are having contact sport being played.

Presumably it's because cricket cant afford to pay £4m for multiple tests per week on each player and staff member.

So you banking on no footballer getting the virus and passing it on?
Less likely with the testing they will get than majority of people that will be back at work in 3 weeks time not being tested. Your post suggested they were not only certain to but certain to pass it on to somebody vulnerable. Like anyone going back to work in the next month they should still be avoiding those at most risk.
They can’t not play until we get a vaccine which is the alternative.
