Premier league to sell matches on Netflix style service

Interesting to see how this ends up getting priced.
Games against Norwich etc probably next to nothing.
Games against other contenders, probably close to big boxing matches.

Yeah, then the two well supported red teams will make gazillions worldwide. Marvellous.

And if that law is fucked off that will be the death knell of lower league and grassroots football.

That’s an overhyped myth imho, which I would like to see put to the test. And if it means some of the 92 had to go semi-pro, then so be it. It’s 2020, not 1920.

If anyone wants to see what will likely happen with this setup, just study what NBCSN has done since taking over PL broadcast/stream rights in the US.

My bet would be on a modified version of that bimodal scheme.

Fubo tv (and I think Dazn?) already do it in some form, I once had a sub for fubo and loved it, great set up and smooth streaming, however it just used NBCSN coverage and no longer seems accessible outside US, including with a VPN
