Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis in dig at Man City ‘wasters’ By MARTIN BLACKBURN
NAPOLI president Aurelio De Laurentiis has branded Champions League opponents Manchester City 'money-wasters'.
And he reckons the Serie A club enjoyed a moral victory over the Premier League's big-spenders at the Etihad on Wednesday night.
City's entrance on to the biggest stage did not go to plan and they needed Aleksandar Kolarov's late free-kick to rescue a point.
De Laurentiis said: "Does Michel Platini want to implement this financial fair play rule or not? Is it going to be respected?
"I have fun challenging money-wasters. A draw here was like a victory.
"People had said City and their cousins United are candidates to win the Premier League and it would be hard for us. But for a few errors, we could have won."
