President Joe Biden

Believe or not, I'm bending towards Susan Rice.

As neolib as she is, she's got more experience than anyone else in the whole field including Biden, when it comes to foreign affairs.

I suspect, also, she'd be more malleable than anyone would expect on progressive ideas.

I think that, maybe, because I know what everyone else offers and she's little of an unknown quantity since she was last in an administration.

If he picks rice how long before Trump tweets "Benghazi"?

I think she'd wipe the floor with Party boy Pence in a debate.

Did you bother watching any of it?

I would say no, but then I'm not surprised.

This is not a relitigation of the whole debacle, rather letting some 'experts' express their opinions on where the "truth" lies.

You're clearly not objective, so the videos are not for you.
Hahahaha, yes. I'm the one not being objective about Tara Reade.

Well your post shouldn't be directed to me.

You have 4 experts on the Biden vid to 'object' to and 5 on the Reade vid to 'object' to.

I'm not arsed either way. I just found the deconstruction of both super interesting.

Watch it, don't watch it.

No fucks given either way.

The Americans have the unenviable chose of choosing between a Fascist **** and a neo liberal ****.

Not much of a choice and this is where the VP choice is crucial because Biden might not last the term.

How is that "unenviable"? Choosing between Sanders and Trump would be unenviable -- or worse, Warren and Trump.

Seems like a pretty clear choice to me -- usually is when one of the candidates is a "fascist", right? -- and Joe Biden isn't close to being a **** -- if anything he's the opposite -- perhaps too kindly.

To paraphrase an old saying "The ones that want to be President should never be President."

When Biden was elected to the senate in one of his first interviews he said he was doing it to become President. To me that's wanting the job to stroke your own ego over doing the job the way it should be done.

Should he become President there's a possibility his party will get control of both house and senate. He will have 2 years to either implement a new radical reboot to unite the country or will he use it just to recalibrate back to his his mates policies pre Trump.

There's a golden opportunity to become one of the great presidents and will also need a dilligent VP to progress the work should he not be able to complete the term. And if he does become a great I will gladly put my hands up and admit I'm wrong.

I'm not his biggest fan but I would vote for him if I could and I think that's the message that needs to be sent out to people who don't want Trump.

You know, Bob, I can't think of a time where I've disagreed with you, but this is one time.

When Biden speaks to a Black person, he tends to lope into this 'jive' talk with his "come on, man!" stuff and it's irritating at best and racist at worst. Now, to be clear, I think there's a distinct difference on the racist aspect from Biden and #45. I don't know that Biden realises he's doing it whereas the Orange Blimp knows exactly what he's doing and saying.

As for the 'groping of women', well, I believe once is enough to disqualify you from any realms of power, never mind women 10+.

Let's not confuse Biden as being 'left'; he's not.

But he is left of hard right.

Yes, it should disqualify you and yes Biden has entrenched ‘old white dude’ opinion on race. The practical problem faced by the American electorate is that Biden is all they have. There isn’t anyone else and no amount of frothing over Biden is changing that.

This time around Democrats were not going to pick anyone to run, but an old white dude. They were never going to pick a woman, or a black guy, or a Latino or a gay guy, or an old Jewish guy, no matter how qualified they may be. And that choice was made by Democrat voters, including black Democrat voters, because again like it or not 8 years of loyal service to a younger black President does count, and it counts more than Biden putting his foot in it and it will also count if Biden picks a black woman as VP.

No one is saying Biden is left, Biden is an old school Democrat. But left/progressive Democrats can continue to progress under Biden.

Well, that's clearer to me.

It's such a shame the US were given false choices to lead the country, especially in light of the pandemic and the ensuing economic issues that have followed it.

I'm not his biggest fan either and I will vote for him every day and twice on Sunday and would have for Sanders or Warren too despite the fact that I disagree with the former on many matters of policy and disagree with and despise the latter. This election is about eliminating a cancer. It's chemotherapy for the nation.

I agree.

That's the message that needs to be put out there.

Right, this. This thread for the last several pages seems to be operating in some bizzaro world where the current President isn't Donald Trump and each example of a Biden misstep isn't something he does several times worse every single week.
