I’m going to see them playing Screamadelica on Saturday at castlefield. A seminal post-club album.

Think there's a few of us going. Can't wait.

I was in the middle of this somewhere, reading 94. I remember it being very very good, but specifics are a bit hazy.

The album reminds me of away games back in the day … proper away games I have it on in the car sometimes with the mrs and the two girls not their boat but they allow me to play it ,
Great album followed with great memories,
Traveled all over the country listening to that album numbed the pain.

saw them doing it at the apollo a few years back and it was brilliant. that said, can't wait for saturday. first outdoor gig since covid and i've bloody missed them. daughter is staying at a friend's for the night, we can get smashed, happy days

Screamadelica is extraordinary but I actually prefer Vanishing Point. The tracks on the latter album are wonderfully ethereal, trippy and laid back. Echo Dek, the album of spin-off dub mixes is also worth a listen.

So time to resurrect this thread. Anyone else got tickets for Castlefields Bowl in July?

Last time I was at that venue must’ve been about 5 years ago for the first Hacienda classical shows (and a good night that was).

Bearing in mind the gates open at 5pm, I’m eager to hear who else is on the bill, and equally important, who is DJ’ing.

Either way it’s gonna be one hell of a Leo Sayer, especially if the weather is decent.
