Probs with Windows Media Player

Ok I've encountered a strange problem today with WMP. I've got lots of .ASF files that always used to play fine on WMP but today I've tried and the video is in slow motion, even though the audio is the correct speed.

Really bugging me as they used to play perfectly and I haven't done anything that I'm aware of that should've changed that.

Any ideas folks?

Think I've solved it. I simply changed the file extension from .asf to .asx and they're working fine now. Very strange.
