The Club is delighted to announce Project Blue - a new team, set-up in order to kick-start a curatorial project aimed at compiling a comprehensive list of all MCFC memorabilia.
Project Blue’s mission is to discover as much memorabilia as possible, log its ownership status, location, security and market value, and where not held/owned by MCFC, enquire if there is the potential to acquire it.
Following this audit of memorabilia there will be a proposal to develop and manage this aspect of MCFC heritage and to maximize commercial opportunities whilst protecting the heritage of the Club.
Until April 2009 MCFC had a museum of memorabilia similar to many other football clubs. For various reasons including financial constraints and change of location, the museum was discontinued and the assets acquired and displayed are no longer on display.
The history of the football club, its role in the community and the memorabilia associated with that history is recognised as a valuable asset to the Club by the current leadership and there is a desire to re-establish access to this story and experience.
We hope to provide access to the history, heritage and values of the Club globally and establish the City of Manchester Stadium as a must-see experience for the local community, our supporters and visitors to the North West.
So, who are the ‘special agents’ needed to make this project a success? Well, we’re looking for volunteers who are:
• Passionate about City,
• Have a good knowledge of our history and heritage,
• Able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
• Able to commit to regular hours on a voluntary basis
Tick some or all of the boxes? Then we want to hear from you. Interested candidates should apply by completing the MCFC application form which can be found at:

The Job reference is MC/PB_Volunteer. Please include a covering letter explaining how you believe you can help and indicating the number of hours per week you would be available.
The closing date for applications is 8 July 2011. All successful applicants must be prepared to be CRB checked prior to appointment.
