I got these off skysports' website, so sorry if they've already been posted somewhere.

This list shows how many yellow cards have been awarded to the opponents of each Premier League team this season. As you can see, the most bookings are dished out to teams playing... us. And do bear in mind that we've played fewer games than everyone bar Villa!

1. Manchester City (62)
2. Arsenal (58)
3. Tottenham Hotspur (57)
4. West Ham, Wigan Athletic (56)
6. Liverpool (53)
7. Manchester United (52)
8. Hull City (51)
9. Sunderland (46)
10. Blackburn Rovers, Everton (45)
12. Birmingham City (43)
13. Stoke City (39)
14. Aston Villa, Chelsea (38)
16. Burnley (37)
17. Portsmouth (36)
18. Bolton Wanderers, Fulham (34)
20. Wolves (32)

This next table shows how many times each team is fouled before a yellow card is shown. So in a way, it reveals which teams consistently get bad challenges on their players, resulting in fewer fouls per booking. As you can see... we are fouled fewer times before a yellow card is shown than any other team.

1. Fulham (10.32)
2. Wolves (9.81)
3. Bolton (9.33)
4. Chelsea (9.18)
5. Everton (9.02)
6. Burnley (9.00)
7. Portsmouth (8.63)
8. Birmingham (8.52)
9. Aston Villa (8.11)
10. Hull City (7.76)
11. Blackburn Rovers (7.51)
12. Stoke City (7.20)
13. Liverpool (7.11)
14. Sunderland (7.00)
15. Tottenham (6.82)
16. Arsenal (6.79)
17. West Ham (6.79)
18. Manchester United (6.46)
19. Wigan (6.09)
20. Manchester City (5.77)

I think we knew already that we are kicked off the park virtually every single game, but these stats don't half reinforce what we suspected! No wonder we've barely been able to field an unchanged side this season! Is this the only tactic teams have for trying to beat us?

i bet most of those fouls are on swp......

and he doesnt get half the fouls he should as he tries to stay on his feet all the time.

swp must be the most fouled player in the premiership (he certainly would be if all the fouls he takes against him were actually given!!!)

This may explain our CONSTANTLY LARGE injury list!

Also may explain why we can't keep the ball like we really should be with the players we've got; because play is always being broken up by fouls on us!

Or that refs like us?

the other week peter walton dished out 6 yellows to the dippers while failing to give even a free kick for mascherano's studs up red card assault on gareth barry. clattenburg failed to book paul robinson at the reebok despite fouling swp out of that game as early as the 10th minute (and for several games afterwards) and fouling bellamy when he was about to race ino the area with the ball. he did red card bellamy for 'diving' though.

and so on.

Yeah, I know they don't but these stats suggest they do. There's a saying about this lies, damn lies and something.

Quite interesting stats I thought; I thought we were getting hacked down a lot this season but then I just assume I've got the blue tinted specs on. Perhaps not!

There's been a couple of games in the last month where i've considered the ref to have been kind to us, but other than those, i really can't think of any. I've lost count of the numbers of times we've sang "you're not fit to referee" this season. So in all honesty, even when trying to take my blue specs off, i don't think these stats illustrate that refs like us. I still stick by how i interpreted them in the OP, in that i think they reveal our opponents aggressive style of "football" against us.

The stats don't show that we're winning more free kicks, just that the free kicks we do win result in a booking more often. From those stats it would suggest that Everton, Hull and Arsenal win the most free kicks, while we win a fairly average amount.
