Oh dear, just looked on ps3 forum and apprently it's unplanned maintainence. A similar excuse used before admitting it had been hacked.

Since the hack happened do you have to change your password?

My mate who works for Phony said you just put your username in and then change your password - no additional security needed. Many people entered other known usernames and took control of their accounts plus credit card details etc. by entering a new password. I think that security lapse lasted about a day.

Workin fine for me, just had a quick round on Killzone 3 no issues.
