PS3 on monitor!

Alright folks,

Haven't got a HD telly in me room, so decided to have a go at playing me ps3 through my computer monitor (which is HDCP supported as far as i am aware).

So i have a HDMI coming from the playstation into the DVI of the monitor, which isn't used as the computer uses the VGA plug. Problem i am having is when i try to switch to Digital via the on screen control panel the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds, and simply reverts back to analogue.

Anyone know where i have gone wrong, or i am missing anything? Thanks

Yeah had it on the scart, but i've tried this before. There is noway i can tell if it has worked though.

But it does seem the most likely problem, may as well just sit down and piss about with it for a bit.

No worries mate... i seem to remember my mate having a similar thing... he sorted it in the end though!

Good luck mate... im still waiting on mine to be fixed by Sony after the hard drive corrupted on me :(
 
Just tried the cable at me mates who's ps3 is set up right and It didn't work. so going to pick up a cheap one to see if that works.
