is there much difference between the 120GB and 250GB?

About 130Gb.
Other than that, if they are both slims, no. Except the 250Gb you can get in white and pink also (Stevie Ireland special, pink with blue controllers). They are all 4th gen PS3s, so all should have:
802.11b/g Wi-Fi,
2 USB ports,
No PS2 emulation,
No SACD support,
Bravia Sync XMB control,
Slim form factor
