ps5 controller reconnect issue

my lad has just used his controller on another ps5, now deleted from that ps5 but now is having trouble reconnecting back to his own ps5

just cant get past the press the ps button screen

tried hard connect with his lead and the press the ps button with another(cant remember )

and the reset at the back

nothing seems to work i'm stumped???

unbelievably the wife came in after being out and sussed it within 5 mins
we were using the wrong lead???????

worked straight away, apparently we had a charging lead in and not a connecting one, never knew there was such a thing

Had no idea computers could differentiate between copper wires.

Your missus is correct mate. I use my xbox controller with my gaming pc and the USB cable I use to charge the controller through my xbox won't connect to my PC, yet the USB I use to charge my samsung phone with an identical end works perfectly with it. Took me hours to work out what was up the first time!
