Don't want to get to deep on this and will leave others to believe what they want.

- Algerian Rebellion
- Lost. Loss marks the first defeat of a western army by a Non-Turkic Muslim force since the Crusades, and produces the First Rule of Muslim Warfare; "We can always beat the French." This rule is identical to the First Rules of the Italians, Russians, Germans, English, Dutch, Spanish, Vietnamese and Esquimaux.

Why does any discussion about the French or Germans turn in to a "My grandad was harder than your grandad" argument? It was 70 years ago FFS, move on.

My history of France's military failings went much further back.

So which army was it that held off the Germans while 200,000 British troops legged it - oh sorry, "staged a strategic withdrawal" - off Dunkirk beach? Surely not a bunch of surrender monkeys?

Well they surrendered on 3rd June so yes, that title is quite apt. The least they could do really. No fight to the death there.

btw - We rescued 140,000 French off their own coastline and let them come and live hear and eat proper food. Just after the French surrender and Vichy France simply colluded.

The British Expeditionary Force hardly covered itself in glory either, without the BEF the French had no hope of beating off the German offensive. It was the politicians who surrendered and collaborated, as was posted above the resistance continued throughout the war.

It would appear that some posters are taking exception to the merciless ribbing of our Gallic friends across the channel. Well they can fuck off, one could not be described as a true Englishman if one did not regularly and consistently adopt such a posture.
They're only French after all ;)
Fuck off you twat.
