French authorities are investigating potential match-fixing in Paris St-Germain's 6-1 Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade this month.

I'm guessing if one loses a bet like that the bookmaker will make you very miserable if you fail to pay.
What I wonder is how a football referee has that kind of money. Surely, to place a bet like that the bookie wants to know you can pay him/her if you lose. Possibly others involved in this as well financing the bet?
