They have just signed Virat Kohli the Indian cricket captain as their face for Puma for India which is a huge coup for them. So anything with Puma on in India will sell by the bucket loads and after cricket, football(especially the premier league) is the second most watched sport in India. And with a population of over one billion you can bet our revenue will go up there as well as other football teams in the premier league sponsored by Puma. It wouldn't surprise me if the have already lined up tv adverts with Kohli and AgueroWhy's that ?
Are Indians that shallow that they'd buy Puma stuff, just because Kohli is associated with the brand? Seriously? Yes; I know he's worshipped in his homeland, before you say. They have just signed Virat Kohli the Indian cricket captain as their face for Puma for India which is a huge coup for them. You have a short memory. Some of the stuff foisted on us by Umbro in the 90s was a disgrace. Likewise in their last couple of years of their most recent deal with us. Just because Nike have, on the whole, been shite doesn't make the last two or three offerings by Umbro any better.Cause for concern.. look at the Arsenal kit Puma have churned out. Rumour has it they make them skin tight which ain't good. Oh dear gone are the days of Umbro
Yeah absolutely. Its definitely a license to print money. When I was over there it was all about Sachin Tendulkar and he was always on tv over doing adverts, Pepsi was the biggest one and everyone drank that instead of Coca-Cola. My friend who still lives there says its even bigger with Kohli as hes married to a famous Bollywood actress and they are like a royal couple, anything they promote the Indian public will buy.Are Indians that shallow that they'd buy Puma stuff, just because Kohli is associated with the brand? Yeah; I saw his missus on TV in the stand at Edgbaston the other day. As the old saying goes; the boy done good!Yeah absolutely. Its definitely a license to print money. Also weren't there rumours we were looking to buy an indian football club? That would tie in with the Puma deal. There's a huge untapped market out there
