Putting things somewhere safe (while drunk)

I lost my work phone, was in a meeting when we were given a box set of brochures and I put it in there as I had a lot to carry and I was off for a while so wouldn't need it. Anyway box set of brochures never got opened again and after a two week holiday couldn't find it anywhere.

Two months later a topic on here about Welfare Reform so I went to get the box of brochures out of my car to check something and out pops the phone!!

That's when I remembered what I had done with it! And I wasn't drunk.

I have had a cunning plan.
All I have to do to find my work phone is to remember what I was drinking on Friday evening, drink the same stuff today and I will be back in the frame of mind I was when I placed it somewhere "safe".

Foolproof.

is the plan working?

It worked to a degree, I managed the drinking what I was drinking on Friday bit, but was enjoying the drink too much to worry about the phone, I will have to try again over the weekend.

Thread of the year so far.

I've done this far too often. The worrying thing is how fiendishly my drunken self managed time and again to outsmart my sober self.

I quite often cunningly conceal my keys all night dangling out of the front door.

This will clearly save having to clear up the mess if burglars decide to smash the door down in order to rob the house...

Once had several hundred pound on me and had stuffed into a fold in the couch like I always do. Except I hadn't ... spent a mournful hour retracing my footsteps back to the pub before coming home gutted.

Went for a slash and there it was on top of the cistern.
