I said when it happened Zinny would be a huge loss for us. We haven’t been as fluid since. Totally underrated what he brings to the side. In Pep I trust!

I don't think many City fans were expecting to win once we saw the lineup.

And the performance reflected the team that was picked.

However, I don't judge Pep for it now. I will judge him after the second leg.

Clearly he was happy to remain in the tie and felt a slim loss was still acceptable. Spurs had a longer rest before this game, had Kane injured during it and we have had several players injured and only just returing and others worked into the ground so his team seemed to be based very much on preserving people. Best illustrated by introducing De Bruyne and Sane so late on.

You would imagine there is hope Zinchenko is available next week. Or Mendy is able to play some part. Stones can get some more more minutes and be in contention. Aguero will have another 60 minute run out this weekend, Sane and Bernardo will both no doubt be back in. If we beat Palace and win the 2nd leg and go through, the choices he made for this game will be justified.

We can't lose at Palace but we could afford a loss last night. So in many ways it was the right way to approach the game. We still should have come away with at least a draw.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Laporte
Mendy
Ferny
De Bruyne
Bernardo
Sterling
Sane
Aguero

That is a team that can go and win the 2nd leg by enough to see us through. Especially with our atmosphere, which will be electric, and will not be something the media or Spurs will expect or give credit for.

I think Pep will be just about happy with last night and whilst I don't think he put out the right team he did do the right thing in terms of managing what is coming.

We could afford to play a weaker side and lose last night but we definitely cannot afford to lose any of the next 4.

We have done just enough in the last 2 games and I think that is because he is telling them to conserve energy and to do just about what needs to be done before this run of games coming up.

It is all about the bigger picture, that is why we are still in four competitions.

You must have been watching a different game to me.

Where were you when you were shit songs ? Really ?

And where has your extra 25k come from all of a sudden, well there be one less at next game I suppose

Never 2 results the same when you play a team a few times in a short space of time neither, enjoy your week of glory

Not sure what I said that offended you. The fella said the Spurs crowd were quiet. I disagreed.

Nice one, I like the cut of your jib, sick of reading negative comments by some who should know better. I’m all for criticism when it’s justified but we have been on a fantastic run, hampered severely by injuries and ffs, 1-0 down with a home leg to come is hardly a disaster. Wonder if the anti CL brigade will turn up for this one.
They will turn up, boo the CL anthem and celebrate the winning goals - nothing wrong with that.

Lots of disappointments last night, we know what they were. However genuinely believe we'll turn it round next week and will be nice to see the Spurs fans reaction as the vast majority seem to think they are already through.....

The spurs crowd were very loud at the start, pretty average from 30 minutes in apart from the Ali volley and not at the races in the second half until you scored. As the second half wore on we were in total control we you resorting to hoof ball up to Kane so he could cheat his way to a freak kick. Such a shame he injured himself.

Laughable that your ‘fans’ were waving goodbye at the end, haven’t they grasped the concept of a two-legged tie yet?

See you all in Manchester.

Pep had a complete brain fart last night. Dreadful selection, dreadful substitutions.
If not a brain fart, the only conclusion I can come to was he wanted a close defeat from a game we could afford to just lose so he could have a lever to get into the teams heads to improve performances. - That however is probably a delusion on my part applying super human qualities to a mere mortal.
Also on return from injury Sergio needs to start as a sub till he scores off the bench. It seems to be always the same when he plays after injury, no matter how slight.
