totally embarrasing overreaction, from people who expect we will win every single game between now and the end of the season.

Something last nights game does is give us that loss out of our system. We got beat, it was bound to happen at some point and out of all the games we have over the next month or two last nights was the one we could afford to lose.

Next time, we face the Harry Kane team without Harry Kane.

I think this is fair.

I'm still disappointed about last night. But not because we lost.

I'm disappointed because Pep has made the same mistake again that he has made in the last two years in the CL. 3 if you could that ridiculous 3 at the back and dropping Muller for Bayern vs Barca - he's overthought it.

If that was a league game last night and he needed to rotate players and play that 11, no doubt in my mind he would have played 433 and we would have steamrolled them. But instead we play some bizarre 442 / 334 hybrid which we've never played before. The players didn't know what they were doing.

It's like in the CL knockouts he can't relax, he can't trust what's been working. He thinks he has to find an edge. Throw in a curve ball that the opponent didn't see coming. It's like he thinks this is what he's been paid for.

But the truth, is that if we'd played our normal shape, everyone knows what they're doing, they're relaxed. Monaco, Liverpool or Tottenham couldn't live with us. But by playing some ridiculous shape the players are unfamiliar with, it opens the door for the opponents to beat us.

I still think Pep is the best coach of all time. I just wish in the big CL games, he'd have a little more trust in himself to stick to what works.

Ok well if that is the plan the club should let us know.before fans spunk hard earned money on the champions league games, they should say lads and lasses we aren't really arsed in the champions league the Prem is our number 1 priority
Are you for real? Whether the prem is number 1 priority or not, Pep wants to win everything and that was the first leg. I appreciate the comment on fans and their money but tell me one team getting better value for money this season? The rags? Arsenal? Chelsea?

Just heading back to Manchester on the train, absolutely heaving wth united fans. Just a couple of thoughts on last night.

Firstly three players coming over to the fans at the end is disgraceful. Well done on walker, ilkay and Fernandinho. Trying to go for damage limitation in a game such as that is always hard. I understand lots of fixtures etc, we’ve not played to full last couple of games tbh but last nights game is the sort that you are preserving your 100% for. The lack of subs to freshen the team up if nothing else was frustrating, forget sane over Mahrez etc anyone would have done.thought ilkay had excellent game although not seen the highlights since.

In regards to spurs new ground atmosphere good to be fair to them, let’s see how long it lasts once honeymoon period is over. Only really had two songs. They was fighting with stewards all around who were trying to get them to sit down. City’s away section dire once again, was good in the concourse. Chinese guy in front filming whole game (especially spurs chances). African family couple of rows in front 2 adults 5 kids. Couple of Scandinavian tourists on the row in front to finish it off. None of whom should be getting tickets. Takes the enjoyment right out of these sort of games, would get more atmosphere from people sat in the local boozer.

To be quite honest, I don’t think it’s a bad thing that we lost. This is the type of result that can reignite the team, going into the final stretch of the season.
We are “MANCHESTER CITY” and the season goes on!

The overreaction is incredible from some on here.

Its HT in the tie, no more no less, let the post-mortems begin next Thursday!

Winning every game to the end of the season was, to say the very least, a massive ask! Plus winning 3 consecutive games against Spuds was also a huge ask, so maybe, just maybe, we got away with the defeat and we shall indeed go on and triumph in the 2nd leg.... We shall wait and see.

Personally, although I want us to win every game and every trophy going, this corrupt and rancid competition is the least favored of all we are going for and always will be as its simply corrupt, plain and simple. The only reason I want us to win it is to provide a massive Fook-You to the criminals in charge of this horrible competition (oooo good idea for next seasons flag if we do!)

Have faith fellow Blues, what will be will be, and after all, we still have the best manager in the world for me and wouldn't swop him for any other...

Onwards and upwards and a must-win game at Selhurst Park at the weekend!!

We know what was in his mind. His past caught up with us, and we paid the price for him losing his nerve.

No manager is perfect. I just hope we get away with it.

I would be very very embarrassed if I were him next time I appeared in front of the press. In a Champions League tie when you are the favourites and clearly the better side, you exploit that and do not cower before the game. Bottled it Pep. Good job you have a lot of credit in the bank.

You are starting to embarrass yourself Marv, thought you were better than that
