Just been to see this today, was impressed with the action as always, but the script was so cliched and trite, not very good at all.

And something else I've noticed, the amount of 'product placement' in the film is shocking.

Omega
Virgin Airlines
Sony Ericcson

to name but 3... I swear some of those camera angles were used just to get a better look at Bond's watch!

They ripped off Goldfinger when Fields dead on a bed and got covered in oil! What a name, Strawberry Fields. What was even the point of her character?

Apart from that i thought it was good. Not as good as Casino Royale. It did get a bit confusing at times though, for me it did anyway!

Maybe he went straight into another film thus making Quantom of Solace ineligible for the 'Last movie watched' category?!!

Very true indeed.

And why then, Smart Arses, have people put in multiple films watched in that section? In fact the title of the thread says 'FILMS yo last saw'.

Case closed. Case dismissed. Case thrown out with laughing contempt.

I thank you, ladies 'n' gents.

I thought EXACTLY that and have to serarch my recollections as to whether they laid her out in the same position! Oddly enough, Craig wants to remake "Goldfinger". Whilst I think that's the wrong direction, I think it leans towards the mineral theives that certain films lean towards. So, in that keeping-in-the-realms-of-reality aspect, I understand why he said that.

However, whilst I think that would be the wrong direction, a 'Bond' remake is going to be due very soon as the writers are running out of ideas.

So, which will it be and why?

"Last film you saw", unless there's another thread covering the same subject.

I think this is the first time they have run a theme through consecutive bond films and because of that as a stand alone film the plot was a little thin. Having said that i enjoyed it and like the idea of bond being stripped of the wise cracks and silly gadgets and becoming more of an emotionally suppressed hired gun. The seed of "quantum" the new specter, is sown and now we see that they could be anywhere including on the inside. I like the re-establishing of Felix as his US contact and confidant and liked the nod to gold finger at the end.

Normally in bond films the first Bond girl he meets ends up dead and the second in bed with him and survives. This time the first one a) didn't sleep with him and b) didn't die so Ms Fields (great name in the true bond tradition) was needed as bond's quick fling and as the chick that dies. Some traditions have to be maintained.

any chance of you doing some work?

( i thought it was shit btw)

Covering agent fields in oil was a very deliberate homage to Goldfinger.

I agree that the plot was a bit thin but all the big action scenes were very well done. I thought that the opening scene (the car chase in the tunnel) was one of the best Bond pre-credits scene ever.

Isn't each and every Bond film exactly alike?

The bit where he picks the lock and there's a five minute close up of his watch stood out for me.Think he could have been decent as bond but the films themselves have been shite .The baddie in this one had fuck all about him ,just a bit of a tetchy midget and the plots a right load of old bollocks.
