I'm no royalist but I don't envy the Queen. She does a good job. Could you be arsed smiling and nodding, showing faux joy/sympathy/congratulations/respect/whatever to people you don't know and couldn't give a shit about every day of the week for 80 years? Having to get up and make an effort with your appearance every day? Following endless protocol knowing any mistake or slip of the facade would result in endless media pressure and analysis?

No, not for all the jewels in the Tower. The hangers on and minor royals can do one but the Queen has my respect. I couldn't do her job. As a figurehead for Britain we could do much much worse. She's a safe pair of hands who knows her role.

Not a royalist but I hope she lives longer than her mum. She could the maybe outlive Charles plus a good number of the bitter plonkers who have posted on here.
