is that the "Champix" tablets, my mate is on them and says they do work, he's still had the odd craving for a fag but if he has one he can only take a couple of puffs before he has to put it out. Think I'll be going to see my doc to get on the programme for them, think it's a 12 week stint. I said I would give up before i hit 40, only got about 4 weeks to go!!!

didnt get the name but 12 weeks sounds about right. my sister said that within a couple of days even if she tried to light up it made her feel sick. she has no craving at all for them now. sounds good but as i said there can be loads of side effect - including but not limited to making your poo go all weird.
 
The pangs get weaker all the time and farther apart. Knowing that and with the help of the patches, I cracked a 30 year heavy habit.

Watch out for complacency, when you get cocky and think just one won't hurt. (It will)

I gave up after 25 years. The first week was so bad, so horrendous, that I never ever wanted to go through it again. So staying away from tobacco after that, was indeed a piece of piss.
 
Gave up a month or so ago, and I'm not saying it's easy, but you have to ask yourself a simple question.

Do you want to give up?

If you do, you will.
 
Pencilled in 1st of Jan as my give up day. Did it before for about a year then caved. This time I'm going to try the patches. Anyone else giving up on the same day? we could have a little bluemoon support group!!
