Without any doubt, but he is unattainable at this stage of the season.

Unless we just steam in and trigger the buyout clause in which case Atleti have no choice and it's down to Falcao.

True but he seems to have a bit of loyalty and I can't blame him for that. For now it seems a little out of our reach, but who knows we might have a chance in the Summer.
You cant really rely on that though. If the clause is triggered and we offer him a fair sum plus the chance to win the league (we are still closer to that than atletico) then its not a huge stretch to get him.

We won't know unless we try. If he signed he would give the club a huge boost but he is only one player. Existing players need to step up and we need a deeplying playmaker.

Without a doubt we need to pull something big out in this transfer window otherwise we won't win the league. Especially as our Summer signings were shite and, in my opinion, completely pointless signings and a waste of money.

We need Falcao. We should be trying our hardest to sign him. Not only is he on fire, he is a 100% grafter, scores goals for fun, amazing goals too not just tap ins. When was the last time our strikers scored a brilliant goal?

Might be reading too much into it but rumours seem to be rife that Robinho & Pato are off to Brazil. With Mario not playing could it be that AC are planning to swoop for him in January, and we're making room for............

It could be on, especially him being fit enough to train but in the squad for match days. Looks like we're keeping him fit but not playing him for risk of injury

Mourinho and Falcao have the same agent
Give Jose the gig as soon as he wants it and Falcao will follow suit
And the rest of Mendes' clients? Ronaldo and Di María joining too?

Please city just do it..

Heard an interesting interview on the radio with a la liga expert. He's of the opinion that athletico prefer players in the deal and not straight money. The rationale being that they owe a huge amount and anything they receive in cash is gone before they have a chance to count it.

He was saying this may put chelsea at the top of the list as they have a really good young goalie on loan there who is really impressing and then theres torres, still a hero at atletico. If they bundle these two for example and add a couple million to fend off the debt then this is ideal for them..

it really knarks me when people say he wont come to city, well prove it. or he will move to a london club.why? not everyfooker wants to move to the smoke. now fook off. no one knows. the only thing that matters is the who pays top dollar

No doubt we will have a chance with Falcao, but it will be in the Summer before he contemplates moving.

No one's said definitively he won't come to City; we aren't soothsayers you know. Some are just pointing out that of all the clubs he could move to, we're most likely bottom of the list in terms of likelihood. We've got 4 top-notch strikers here already, and convincing him to come into that kind of immense competition when he's already 1st choice bar none at his current club would be difficult, even if you got rid of Mario (which really wouldn't solve anything as he's only the 4th string CF anyway). And even if you say get rid of Balo and Dzeko and bring him in in the summer, by the time they're sold off and a few other high earners are offloaded to free up the funds for a transfer, the likes of Chelsea or Real may well have already snatched him up long before. And that's assuming one of them don't snap him up in January.

It will be difficult, that's all that's being said.

That last quote clearly suggests City have 'spoken to' the Athletico chairman and he's weighing things up.

-- Sat Dec 29, 2012 7:38 pm --

I say Tevez + Balotelli + a few million would definitely get this deal done.

Win win.

For city it's a win not so sure if the people who own the rights to falcao would be too much interested in players, i think when he goes it'll be for cold hard cash. Balotelli i think will go to Italy or maybe psg and i can see tevez being off in the summer as well
