No, I'm saying if there has been the same improvement in the past 10 years that you are expecting in the next 10 years he must have been fucking awful at 12.

This would be part of the reason why we don't have any twelve year olds in the squad.

I'm sure you don't have it in for Sterling and the rest of your post I agree with because you're just saying that players are better in certain positions depending on their strengths and weaknesses. Has someone said we should use him as a fullback or something?

Practically everything that Sterling does well for City involves either him getting in behind the opposition defence or 1 v 1 with a full back

Is this not how he's been used this season?

He's been markedly improved under Pep with some excellent performances against decent opposition and with the refreshing introduction of two likeminded players in Jesus and Sane I expect that to continue over the next three years at least.

You've posted a video of his best ever season, as I have said previously that was for someone else. People are expecting some exponential improvement in the next 2 or 3 years despite he's had little to no improvement in the past 3 years. What is clear is he has something to offer, namely goals and assists. Those expecting him to influence a game like Messi are pissing in the wind because he just doesn't have the required attributes.

No I posted a video that showed a player who has vision, good range of passing, good first touch and could play intricate one touch passing. All attributes which you seemed to insinuate he lacked. He's shown these attributes countless times over the course of this season as well and there are countless videos which can prove that(barcelona away). Now I can agree his strength is when the team plays in a counter attacking style which best utilises his intelligence and speed without the ball, but he can still influence games playing from a deeper position like a 10 role as he certainly has the ability to.

Ha infamy, infamy...

Its ok to be disagreed with, ninj... I happen to believe that your stance, like a great deal many in terms of a European insight, is dated... There's enough to suggest that this evolution that was mooted doesn't stop on the training field because of how its carried out in a match... Sterling will improve wth reinforcement, hence the persistence of seeing the same 'short passes' that frustrate you.....

To write his touch off or unable to improve to the level you expect, at this stage, is naive...

I'm ok with being disagreed with Zin, I just think there is an unrealistic expectation being placed on Sterling by some on here.

i thought he played excellent today, he is being put in the right situation with jesus and sane.

their pace will horrify teams

A sign of how much Pep rates him that he was taken off to rest/protect him for Saturday.

He played great considering they were treating him as a second football kicking him all over the pitch.

Excellent performance once again.

Assist and won the penalty. Constant threat.

Was really nervous when he went down in the second half.

Got him in the right positions and he was devastating. The Sterling that gets in behind the opposition defence is sensational. More please.
