A sublime finish by Sterling for our third.

Sterling's only weakness at this point is that he's not that clinical in front of goal often enough - Sterling seems a bit apprehensive in front of goal either preferring to pass it when maybe he should shoot or making some awkward choices, such as trying to kick the ball when clearly heading it is the better choice.

Love that pic of him celebrating with the City fans. Hope he improves his goal scoring, could have easily had 2 or 3 goals per match this season with the amount of chances we create..

I don't think that Sterling will ever be a world-class scorer, ala Robben.

But he's been fantastic for us under Pep nonetheless.

For whatever reason Sterling seems to lack confidence at times in scoring positions - passing, when taking a shot is better, or trying to kick a high ball when heading it is the much better option.

And yet, Pep has inspired Sterling to take on defenders one-on-one. In this department, he excels - often he manages to sneak the ball past 1, 2 or even 3 defenders - at which point he forgets himself and plays instinctively - and at that point he's been lethal - he'll make some sort of incredible shot or pass that will be simply amazing.

If only Sterling could play instinctively in front of goal at all times, he'd be right up there with Robben (maybe not quite as good - Robben is a freak of nature when he's on form - but close).

People keep forgetting that he is still young, just 21 years old. Still lot of time for him to improve. Pep likes him and recognises his talent. Lacks composure in front of goal, hopefully he will improve in this regard and goes on to be world class under Pep..He has the potential. For now, I am really happy with his cracking start to the season. Tough fixtures coming up and with KDB out for a while, hope he steps up a little bit more and don't go missing in big games.

Hopefully that goal improves his confidence, he always seem to shit himself a bit infront of goal and would much rather pass than shoot himself

agreed. Robben is not that great when he's 21 years old.
even when he's at Madrid, i can't remember his memorable goal or skill.
Sterling will only get better when he reach his peak in middle 20s.

Had a peak over at RagCafe and over the last few weeks they've all finally started to eat their own words and admit he's playing brilliantly, still young, etc etc.

Hopefully that's how all fan bases become this season, think it's maddening the abuse he's received and other than Liverpool don't understand at all why any other club's supporters would boo him
