Should have done better with his chances but for me he was our most potent player, a constant threat an always occupying 2 or 3 players.
He will be starting in Wednesday foe sure.

Rated the worst England player once again by the BBC online readers.
The mentality of the sheep or the rag infested BBC, take your pick.

he's going to need a song when he gets back, even after he scores the winner in the final.
listening to ELO mr blue sky on way back from US, this sprang to my mind, shit or what

raheems gliding down the wing
there is no better sight
its so pretty, hes plays for city
don't you know, its a sky blue day
eh eh

hey you in the press office
youre a fucking disgrace
its a pity but is it just cos hes city
don't you know
hes a centurion
ehe eh

apologies if wrong thread, few world cup beers

They'll gun for him again in the press and on social media but it will be ignored by the people who matter, and the people who make decisions.

Didn’t play his best today, but one thing is for sure he is always a fucking menace for opposition defenses.
Once he finds his shooting boots the sky is the limit for him.

Isn't this always the case. It seems he points he will never find those boots. Alot of big and easy chances where he needs to think, constantly misses. I want him to do well but he needs to show it.

best forward player not eh pitch vs Sweden.....the only one causing the swedish defence any trouble at all

However again he proves why as a club we should never be relying on sterling as a central striker.

But as a creative player, one who opens up defences he is pivotal for both England and us

people have been saying he needs to do better in front of goal and to improve his finishing since the dawn of time... He is pitiful in front of goal (as we have seen in the World Cup) unless of course he's in a majestic City team feeding him tap in after tap in. Quite rightly he gets a lot of shit for it from non City fans.

The love in for him on here is excessive. As is the witch hunt against @tommcfc just because he's not scared to give his opinion even though he knows others will not like it.

The rest of his game is very good. He's a decent player. I'm sure he's a very nice lad. The press witch hunt is totally uncalled for.

One of the mods stated not long after he came that he thinks Sterling will turn out to be our all time top scorer which imo is absolute horse shit and typical of the blue tinted views that you see every day on here.

I like it when he plays well. I like it when he scores. But I think to describe him as being shit at finishing is not an exaggeration.

I thought he played well. Southgate must like what he is doing else he wouldn’t keep picking him. His finishing and decision making need a bit of work but work rate was fine and threat was good.

He is still only 23 something might click in front of goal for the lad but his all around play is exceptional

He has improved significantly in the past 12 months.

I'd say it's possible. Nearly 50 already and I'd expect 20+ a season. Can he go for another 7/8 years with us? Time will tell.

I do concede that he made a vast improvement last season compared to the one before and I hope more improvement comes next season too.

Absolutely this.

No but he should of buried it and that's what he has to do, not just for England but for City in this coming season, or else he will find himself behind Mahrez.

I don't think he 'should have buried it' is what I mean.

I think he did exactly what Aguero or Jesus would have tried to do & they too may have been saved.

I also think the keeper deliberately tripped him with his other hand after making the save, which stopped him from scoring, but Sterling stayed up & again, v.a.r. didn't bother.
