Much better on the right, few wasteful opportunities where it seemed like his cut in every single time mindset from playing on the left bamboozled himself but just a significantly bigger threat.

the couple of times he got in behind he was able to drive at the goal, none of them came to anything but the threat alone gives the midfield more space to play. if that was him on the left his first action is to slow it down let the defenders get in position and look to cut in before ultimately going backwards, it’s a huge difference he has to play to play from the right more, we should always have one winger willing to run behind and on the outside, hopefully Torres can give us hat option too so it’s not solely on sterling.

I think this should be the way forward with sterling on the right wing. We can maybe buy a faster left wing who is also comfortable to switch sometimes mid game to keep the opponents guessing. Sterling would have less goals but I think it is better for the team for now because our full backs are not the best at overlapping

He did well last night but he is so frustarating.He gets in great positions but quite often wastes the opportunity either because he makes the wrong decision or concedes possession too easily.He seems to want to much time on the ball,mostly when he has the time to think.He is so much better when he is instinctive or when he decides to go 100% at getting past his man,he should back himself far more when running at defences.

Clearly a wonderful talent but he can be so much better.

He’s the least of our striking problems, can never fault his effort.
